New Zealand

October 2002 - January  2003

New Zealand is an adrenaline junkies dream and so of course we fit right in.  Skydiving, jetboating, paragliding, blackwater rafting (through pitch black caves with no lights), mountain biking, sea kayaking, whitewater kayaking, hiking, backpacking, sailing - we managed to fit it all in.  We bought a small campervan and joined lots of other tourists driving the small roads and meeting some of the friendliest people we have encountered anywhere.  Highlights were staying with our Kiwi friends Warren and Rachel (and their 2 adorable new additions) whom we had first met in the Bahamas in 1996; visiting a 5 day music festival where we were the only non Kiwis; an all night party with the Queenstown paragliding club; watching the America's Cup races from the judge boat; and Dee seeing 3 new species of penguins in the wild.
